Handover checks

No handover until the checks are done.

Spectra lists the checks that apply to the vehicle and the customer, holds completion while one is missing, and records the reason when a manager overrides.

The complete-handover dialog: a signed PDI still missing, and a manager override that needs a reason

From signed order to keys. The gate builds its list from the vehicle and the deal.

  1. Step 1: The order is in

The handover shows the checks that apply to this vehicle and this customer, and nothing else.

  2. Step 2: The workshop signs off

A signed pre-delivery inspection, plus a current habitation check on any used vehicle.

  3. Step 3: The balance is settled

The handover cannot complete while a balance is still due.

  4. Step 4: Fitness is confirmed

Someone confirms the vehicle is fit for purpose under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

  5. Step 5: Mark Complete unlocks

Once every check is clear, or a manager overrides one with a reason that is recorded.

What it does

Four checks on every handover.

The signed PDI, a habitation check on any used vehicle, the balance due and a Consumer Rights Act 2015 fitness confirmation are checked every time.

  • Signed pre-delivery inspection
  • Habitation check on used vehicles
  • Balance due
  • CRA 2015 fitness confirmation

Add the checks your dealership needs.

Switch further checks on in settings and they join the gate for the vehicles they apply to. A check you have not switched on never blocks a handover.

  • Vulnerable-customer support needs acknowledged
  • Registration with DVLA or CRiS
  • Towing check and licence category
  • Handover checklist and demonstration
  • Warranty documentation on the checklist

Every override carries a reason.

A manager can override a check, but only with a reason. Overrides are recorded and appear in the NCC assessment pack, and overdue handovers are listed.

  • A reason on every override
  • Overrides in the NCC assessment pack
  • Overdue handovers listed

Built for the leisure handover.

The checks follow what a caravan or motorhome sale brings with it.

  • Registration that fits

DVLA registration for motorhomes, CRiS for touring caravans, once you switch registration tracking on.

  • Towing before the tow

With towing checks on, a towable vehicle needs a towing-combination check and a verified licence category.

  • Habitation on used units

A current habitation check is a handover check for any used vehicle.

  • A proper demonstration

Switch on the checklist and the handover demonstration is recorded before the keys go.

Questions and answers

Which checks are always on?

The signed PDI, a habitation check on any used vehicle, the balance due and a Consumer Rights Act 2015 fitness confirmation. Registration, towing, support needs and the checklist join once you switch them on.

Can a manager override a check?

Yes, with a reason. The override is recorded on the order and appears in the NCC assessment pack.

Does it treat caravans and motorhomes differently?

Yes. With registration tracking on, motorhomes check DVLA registration and touring caravans check CRiS. With towing checks on, towable vehicles need a towing-combination check and a verified licence category.

How do I see handovers that are running late?

Overdue handovers are listed, so a manager can see which deals are waiting and on what.

Is Spectra approved by the NCC?

No. Spectra supports NCC Code of Practice requirements. It is not approved or endorsed by the NCC.
