Is Spectra AI really included in every plan?
Yes. The assistant, mail drafting and Content Studio are included from Starter, with the marketing email and document builders, and there is no AI add-on to buy. Professional and Enterprise add Document Import (including spec extraction from owner's manuals), AI Suggestions, the automation builder and agent access over MCP. AI use is subject to a fair-use policy.
Will the AI take action without asking?
No. AI Suggestions only record suggestions. The mail agent never sends an email. Document Import runs an action only when you approve it, and new automations save as drafts until someone activates them. The assistant acts when you ask it to, using only the tools your role allows.
Can the AI see everything in Spectra?
No. It works within the permissions of the person using it. The assistant only gets the tools your role allows, from the eight roles and 51 permissions in Spectra. An external agent only gets the tools covered by the access you grant it, and never more than the person who signs it in.
Is our data used to train AI models?
No. Customer data is never used to train AI models.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
AI can make mistakes, so Spectra shows you its work before it counts. Document Import shows every extracted field for you to check and flags totals that do not add up. Mail drafts wait for you to send them. Listing rewrites get a second pass that checks their factual claims against your source, and Content Studio works from verified catalogue specs, the manufacturer's own specification, your photos, your notes and market comparables.
Which AI models does Spectra use?
Spectra runs on leading AI models. It uses Spectra's own platform key by default, so you do not need an AI account or key of your own.
Is Spectra's valuation AI?
Not in the chat sense, and we are careful about the difference. Valuation is market intelligence: comparables from real listings, with price bands and a confidence score. We are just as careful elsewhere: customer lifetime value scores and VHC pattern detection are rules-based, and call transcription comes from your 3CX phone system.
What is MCP, and do I need it?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for connecting AI agents to software. You do not need it to use Spectra AI. It is for teams that already work in an MCP-compatible agent and want it to look things up and get work done in Spectra, with access you control. It comes with Professional.
Does the website chat widget use AI?
No. The chat widget on your website puts customers through to your team in Spectra's live chat inbox. Your staff read and reply from Spectra.
