For car and van dealers

Built for leisure dealers and ready for cars and vans.

Spectra was designed first for caravan and motorhome dealers. The daily work of a car and van dealership carries over: leads, stock, quotes, the workshop and the books.

Where the day goes. And what Spectra does about each part of it.

  • Leads arrive from several portals and nobody knows who has replied.

AutoTrader and eBay lead webhooks, storefront and dealer-site enquiries and a part-exchange intake API land in one CRM, with a contact timeline and a live chat inbox for website visitors.

    CRM and marketing

  • Registration and MOT history are checked by hand.

DVLA vehicle enquiry and DVSA MOT history lookups fill in the vehicle from the registration, and the result is cached for 30 days.

    Stock and valuation

  • Margin VAT on used stock and a stock book that has to be right.

Margin-scheme VAT, a statutory stock book, VAT returns and HMRC Making Tax Digital submission (once connected). The configurable Stock ID is also the stock-book reference.

    Finance and VAT

  • The workshop runs on paper and a wall diary.

A booking wizard, an offline-first technician app with clocking, and reminder emails for MOT and service. On Professional, add a diary and a drag-and-drop planning board by bay and day.

    Workshop

  • Pricing used stock against the market eats into the week.

Market intelligence with comparables, price bands and a confidence score, stock-ageing flags, and a way to test a new price against the market. Window cards lead with the on-the-road price.

What carries over, and where we stop

The CRM, sales, stock, DVLA and DVSA lookups, workshop, parts and finance carry straight over. Spectra does not connect to a franchise manufacturer's own systems, such as factory ordering.

Before you switch. Hold the system you run today against this list.

  • AutoTrader and eBay leads in the CRM
  • DVLA vehicle enquiry and DVSA MOT history lookups
  • Margin-scheme VAT and a statutory stock book
  • Workshop booking and technician app, plus the diary with Professional
  • Window cards and stock feeds in XML, CSV and JSON

Switching is on us: we move your stock, customers and opening balances into Spectra and train your team, in every plan.

How switching works

Questions and answers

Is Spectra really for car and van dealers?

Spectra is built first for leisure dealers and is ready for cars and vans. The CRM, sales, stock, workshop, parts and finance modules do not depend on the vehicle type. The leisure-specific features, such as berths and damp readings, simply stay out of your way.

Does Spectra connect to manufacturer or franchise systems?

No. Spectra does not offer franchise-dealer OEM integrations, so there is no link to a manufacturer's factory ordering, vehicle-status feeds or warranty-claim portal.

Can I get AutoTrader leads into Spectra?

Yes. AutoTrader and eBay lead webhooks feed the CRM once you connect your accounts.

Does the workshop handle MOT reminders?

Yes. Reminder emails for MOT, service, habitation and road tax are part of the workshop. Registration lookups draw on DVSA MOT history.

Can I list stock on my own website?

Stock feeds in XML, CSV and JSON are available, and the storefront adds a website builder, headless API and WordPress plugin from Professional.

How do I move from my current system?

The Data Hub imports CSV, JSON and Excel, and AI Document Import helps with paper. See the switching guide. Data Hub is part of Professional.
